Thank you to those who participated in the Food Action Plan survey! We are excited to announce that we are currently considering input from each of the clusters before submitting the plan to city staff. In the coming months we will work with city staff to present a polished Food Action Plan to city council this summer.
The City of Asheville’s Food Action Plan was adopted in 2013 as a commitment to working with the Asheville Buncombe Food Policy Council toward shared goals. We appreciate the partnership and support of City Council and the City’s Office of Sustainability (check out their Food Policy Action Plan webpage & this recent column written by City Councilman Gordon Smith!). We’re looking forward to bringing the voices of our diverse community to the table as we revise the plan and develop strategic action steps to inspire progress in 2017 and beyond.
