Policy. Advocacy. Change.

Resilience Ad-Hoc Working Group Meeting

Get in on the ground floor of what promises to be a dynamic food policy council cluster!

WHEN: Wednesday, July 12, 6-7:30 pm

WHERE: United Way – 50 S. Broad Ave, suite 257 ~ Bountiful Cities office

WHAT: Join Laura Lengnick (Resilient Agriculture: Cultivating Food Systems for a Changing Climate), Sunil Patel of Patchwork Urban Farms, and former members of the ABFPC Land Use Cluster to continue our discussion on supporting and advocating for resiliency in our area.

Sunil will share his vision for and current engagement in a local farming cooperative. Imagine growers throughout Asheville (and beyond) working together to produce and distribute food specifically for our local market. It starts with Patchwork Urban Farms and will grow from there.

Are you interested in being involved with the co-op? What can the food policy council do to help?

Following our time with Sunil exploring his vision of resiliency, we’ll do some internal work on evolving from a new working group to a sustainable cluster. If you think you may be interested in joining us as an active member, feel free to hang out for discussions on our roles as potential cluster members (what each has to give, and where we’re lacking), building out the cluster to achieve a critical mass, and procedures/roles for conducting meetings.

We hope to see you there!
