The ABPFC currently operates on a volunteer basis with one part-time coordinator staff position. We are passionate non-profit leaders, community organizers, farmers, nurses, life coaches, parents, and concerned citizens alike. No matter what our various roles are in the community, we all come together around our common passion for reducing food insecurity.
Coordinator: Kiera Mulvey Bulan
Kiera joined Asheville Buncombe Food Policy council as a part-time coordinator in August, 2016. Kiera launched her career in sustainable agriculture as Director of Education at Southside Community Land Trust in Providence RI. She has since worked as Executive Director at FairShare CSA Coalition in Madison, WI, with the international CSA movement, and consulted with non-profits in ME and NY on program development and fundraising. Whether teaching kids to respect the soil, supporting farmers in sharing resources, or helping coordinate voices for policy and advocacy, Kiera believes in the strength and power of organized, informed people to improve our food systems.
