Focused on identification of and education about local water issues surrounding supply, cleanliness, erosion, and other water issues. The water cluster’s current focus is to establish agricultural water rates for the Asheville water district. A Water Cluster research intern is working to gather background information, relevant national examples, and proposals for consideration by staff and council. The policy development is presently in the research stage with questions and definitive exploration identified by Asheville city staff, city council members, and Water Cluster representatives.
